SALON OF REFLECTIONS
21-24 MAY 2025
The Salon of Reflections is a public living room for the exchange of ideas. The Salon combines guided small-group conversations with an immersive installation experience, designed to stimulate learning, exchange and connection.
Each evening is centered around a theme to explore, discover which one you resonate with most and join us for an evening of connection.
Wednesday 21 May 2025 | 6-9pm | Reflecting in the Pause
On opening night, we invite you to enter this new and unique sensory-scape. Slow down and reconnect with your physical body as we explore our intuitive responses to the space. This guided discussion celebrates presence, intuitive listening and expression.

Thursday 22 May 2025 | 6-9pm | Poetry and Storytelling
We all carry stories within us. What makes us seek out stories? Why do we reach for poetry at times of heartache? What happens when we turn our lived experiences into written and spoken words? For writers, readers and listeners alike, we'll explore the ways poems and stories have shaped us, individually and collectively.

Friday 23 May 2025 | 6-9pm | Words, Voice and Language
Words shape our identities, our worlds, our future. But how often do we explore the meanings that we assign to the words we use? How can conversation bring us closer to each other? What if we could use spoken and written words to create a better future? Join us for a guided exploration of the transformational possibilities of words, voice and language.

Saturday 24 May 2025 | 6-9pm | The Living Room
The living room is a space of gathering, relaxation and connection. How are the ways we gather, relax and connect changing? How is technology shaping the rituals and routines of the living room? What could table manners teach us about how to be in relation with one another? Join us for a guided conversation to explore the relationships, rituals and practices that make up the living room.

Every time I open the door of the UPSpace studios, I am permeated by a smell of old theatre, the kind of space that is in danger of extinction. My sculptures, of old textiles and found and rescued objects, speak of this atmosphere suspended between indifference and oblivion. What lies beneath the surface of our existences? UPspace is for me an Under space, full of wonders and surprises.
